Pioneer Day Parade

Grandma and Papa are ready.

We're excited for it to start.

Throw me some candy.

Here in Pocatello, the Pioneer Day Parade is much better than the 4th. This is the first year that I have gone. It was way better than the 4th of July parade by far. We missed the 4th of July parade this year, so it was nice that we were able to take Tyler to this one. He really like it. Every float threw handfuls and handfuls of candy at us. I was worried about Jason, but I don't think he even budged. I got hit in the head so many times my with taffy. Tyler was cute. Once he got the hang of it, he would run to get candy. He almost got ran over a couple of times. Okay, so not ran over, but he would run out in the middle of the road just for a little piece of candy. We had to keep chasing him, but he had a blast. I don't think I watched much of the parade...I was too busy helping Tyler get candy adn being hte bag holder for him. He got just as much candy as he did on Halloween....CRAZY.

Jason's getting big....

It's been awhile since I've updated everyone on Jason. He is almost 12 pounds now. He's starting to get the rings around his thighs too. He's super long...I'm not sure the exact length. He's starting to smile and blabber at us. It's super cute. We will try to catch a smile here soon. It's so hard because they only last for a second. Today is his 8 week check-up, so I while let you know what happens. He's so fun to have around, I can't believe he's almost 2 months old already.

Holy Crap!

Over time, I've picked up a few nicer knives, like this one, but our everyday knives have still been a cheap little set from Macy's we got as a wedding gift. Considering how inexpensive they are, they're well-balanced and hold an edge reasonably well and they've done pretty good for us.

Tonight, thought, as I was cutting a slice of cheese (Tillamook Vintage White Medium Cheddar - yum!) for our cheese-and-crackers snack, the knife snapped a little bit into the handle, smashing (but not cutting!) my thumb against the table. As I recall, I didn't say anything harsher than "Ow! Dang!" but what was awesome was Ty's comment:

"HoLy Ka-Wapp! Bwoke off!"

Oh glorious day!

This is what our bedroom window looked like before the AC. Pretty trashy huh.

Oh beautiful box next to our home.

One of the best advantages....no more sweat head.

After 4 1/2 years of living in our home, we finally did it. We broke down at got central air conditioning installed. It was a beautiful day that day. Oh house is no longer the sauna it once was. We are a happy family again. Tyler is sleeping though the night again, Jason's heat rash has gone down, and we can cook dinner without feeling like we are burning the house down. It really was a glorious day, one I will never forget.

Update

The roses we dug up from Jenni and Teds are doing beautiful. We were a little worried about them for a while. I thought they were dead as dead could be, but look, this one is producing leaves. Yeah. Hopefully we'll have roses by next summer. Thanks again Jenni and Ted.

Lily Padz

Looks like Tyler found the plastic case they come on, and, he is a bit observant as well.

These are the coolest nursing pads ever. I just had to post about them. They are silicone and they actually prevent you from leaking. They are awesome. I was a little reluctant at first, but, I can't believe I survived without these before. They are reusable for 2 months. its a good thing we sell them at work so I can get a deal on them. Awesome.

4th of July

Where is Tyler at....he is that lump hiding beneath the brown blanket.

For the 4th of July, we were going to go to the Pocatello Parade downtown, but, we had a really bad night the night before and we all ended up sleeping in. Yeah. Later in the afternoon, we went to the Miles' for a barbeque and some fun. Tyler ended up playing in the sprinklers with his cousins and we adults played some serious water balloon volleyball. When it started getting dark, we went to the front yard to light some fireworks. Tyler was absolutly terrified. He hated them. We ended up just putting the boys in the car and headed to my mom and dad's since that is where we were going to sleep. They were in their backyard setting up their little blanket when we arrived and so webrought a few more out. Tyler hated it at first and would only lay under the blanket. He eventully landed on my lap and watched the fireworks through his fingers that were covering his eyes. The funny thing is that Tyler actually fell asleep midway through the fireworks.

Nasty Thrush...

A few weeks ago Jason and I got THRUSH. It is a nasty nasty, painful yeast infection. I was hurting so bad. The doctor ordered medicine for both Jason and I. He had two different kinds and I just had to take a pill once a day for 3 days. It's gone now, but I was seriously thinking it wasn't worth nursing with how bad I was feeling. I am glad it's gone. Hopefully it won't come back.
