Christmas Quilts.

Cory's aunt passed away last year and she was an avid quilter. Well, I was able to get some super cute Christmas material from her. The Gingerbread quilt actually came from some Christmas Tree skirts that I got from Jane. I really liked the gingerbread, so I cut them out and made a cute Christmas quilt for Jason. I'm so excited too because I am using Melanie's idea this year and I made Jason a Gingerbread baby outfit. He's going to be adorable and he's going to love his quilt. Jane also had this snowman fabric that she gave me. These were just on a big long piece of fabric...kind of like a cheater quilt. I used some of the Christmas scraps I got from her as well and used them for a border around the Snowmen. I like how this one turned out as well. I don't know what I did wrong, but there are a few character flaws in the snowman quilt. The lines don't match up very well. I cut everything out and measured the fabric, but maybe I sewed them wrong. It's still super cute though.

The top of the quilt.

Jason loves it already.

Cute gingerbread men.

I love them.

Tyler's quilt is really big.

I really love snowmen, so this quilt is awesome to me.

Can you tell, my lines don't match up very well. Oops.

Cookies of Catan!!!

Anyone who knows us, knows that Cory and I like playing games. Well, our good friends were having a party at there home and there were going to be 4-5 couples there and about 18 kids. Crazy. We decided late Friday to make "Cookies of Catan." We made the cookies out of pentagons, but we really needed hexagons. Cory and I both really got into making these cookies and perfecting them. We want to make them again. I think it turned out awesome.

The map. We tried to follow it exactly.

Funny story. We didn't have anything big enough to put the cookies on, so we washed our end table really good and put the cookies on that and brought it to our friends house. They laughed pretty hard about it.

Cookies of Catan.

A city and a road.

We used Sweet Tarts for the number chips.

We are off. When we arrived, I announced that we had a new game to play. All of our friends were curious and Cory brought in the Cookies of Catan. HA! HA!!

Tyler really liked "painting" the cookies. That's what he kept calling it. We even went to Mom and Dad's the next day and I think he mentioned something to Mom about painting cookies. Funny.

Do not try this at home

The simple recipe.

We're off to a good start.

We're excited and hopeful at this time.

What is this crap?

Cory came upon a recipe for cottage cheese. Since we are still on WIC and get tons of milk, we decided to give it a try. I like cottage cheese, Tyler likes cottage cheese, it should taste better homemade than store bought....right? Wrong. Absolutely wrong. It was disgusting. I mean disgusting. When the milk started curdling up I was like "Oh no, what is this?" But, I was still willing to give it a try. So, we refrigerated it and then a few hours later came the taste test. I about gagged. It tasted like cut up sponges with a little chalk mixed up inside it. Then, when we tried to dump it down the disposal, it wouldn't come out of the container. So, all I have to say is, buy your own cottage cheese. Do not try to make it. It is disgusting. I am warning you.

Again....

After Grandpas funeral on Saturday, we went to Ikea with Brian and Krista. After our 2 hour shopping spree, we were hungry and wanted to eat at Cheesecake Factory. The line was so long and was all the way out to the parking lot. We decided to give Olive Garden a try and there was a big line there too. So, we went across the street to Macaronni Grill, but, there was a big wait there too. Gosh...why are restraunts so busy on a Saturday night. Cory and I told Brian and Krista that there was a Five Guys down the road. And so, we went there again. Twice in two days. It was still good the second time around. Sorry Travis and Melanie that you didn't get to introduce Brian and Krista to Five Guys. I know you will take them there though. HA! I hope they liked it as much as we did.

Stansbury Park Halloween

Bat-girl and a cute witch.

The whole crew together.

We really didn't know if we were going to be doing anything on Halloween Day, but we ended up going to Stansbury Park community Trunk or Treat at the elementary school. We met up with Jenni. Ted, Abby and Juliette at their house and then we also met up with Nathan, Melissa, Kayla, and Allie at the school. We all tried to stick together, but it was so busy there. Tyler refused to hold my hand and wanted to go on his own like the other kids.. He was so wild. He kept running back and forth from car to car and he kept hitting the same cars a couple of times. Some cars let him pick what kind of candy he wanted, so at all the other cars, he would try to grab candy and would always ask or reach for suckers. He was quite a demanding little boy that night. I think he finally understands trick or treating. If only we could keep him away from his candy that he gets by climbing on top of a stool or Jason's high chair. I guess I need to find a better hiding spot.

What are we so excited for???

What are we all smiling for?

We are so excited to finally arrive
at....

YEAH!!

Such a good burger.

And the best fries...EVER!

Delicious.

Trunk or Treat

Winnie the Pooh..Winnie the Pooh.

This costume came from the collection of Kayla and Allie. I think Melissa got it at a garage sale for cheap. Nothing else beats a free costume to wear on the cold, cold days for Trunk or Treating.

What a handsome little Pooh.

Grandpa and Jason before the party.

Look at my costume.

Isn't Jason a little young to start walking?

Since we knew we weren't going to be in town for our wards Trunk or Treat, we decided to go to Scot and Laurie's. It was so busy and crowded. First we ate Chili and hot dogs, then it was time for the Trunk or Treating. Tyler was a little unsure at first, but once he started getting candy, he was pretty excited about the whole thing. He came home with a ton of candy. His favorite by far are the suckers. Any kind and he's a happy boy.

Jason

I just really liked these pictures of Jason. I can't believe how fast he's growing up. He is almost 6 months old now and he weighs 21 pounds. What a big boy!! He's getting more aware and alert every day now. He loves watching Tyler and laughs at him when Tyler pays attention to him. He can go about 4 hours or more without nursing now and he eats rice cereal twice a day. He likes to be tickled on his shoulders and he really likes to do Patty Cake.

Rice Cereal

This is the first time we gave Jason rice cereal. He really didn't get how to eat it at first, but now, he's become a pro. He gets it pretty much twice a day now. He really likes it with apple juice.

Getting ready for the cereal. Jason looks like a pumpkin. It snowed this day and that sweatshirt was worn over Jason's clothes. We were freezing.

Such a sweet baby. Smiling and laughing while we are feeding him the cereal.

and...out it comes. He kept pushing it out of his mouth. Like I said, he does pretty good with it now. He just gets a little too excited and smears it around his face now. He loves it.
