The Haunted Hotel

Last night we went on a romantic getaway to Lave Hot Springs....I know what you're thinking, what's romantic about Lava Hot Springs? Well, nothing really. It's quite a run-down little town. Dad won a night stay at the Lava Hot Springs Inn, and he ended up letting us use it because we really wanted to get away for a night, and he didn't think that they would use it. So, we asked if it came with free babysitting for the night too....and of course, it DID!! I was pretty nervous to leave Jason and after going and back forth, I ended up leaving him. Cory and I dropped the boys off around noon yesterday and we were off. We didn't really know what to expect, but we knew we would have fun no matter what.

We missed the turn a few times for the hotel. I think we drove by it twice before we saw this little sign for the hotel.

Here it is, our hotel for the evening. I was hoping it wasn't haunted.

Lovely entryway. HA HA!!

We had so much fun...

We just wanted to show you how classy this place was....don't laugh too hard.

This is the skylight to the sitting room...we didn't sit in that room at all.

What is that thing staring at me.

Yes, this is the key to our room.

I could not, for the life of me, get the door to lock or unlock. Good thing Cory was so good with the key.

Good thing we weren't in room 13...ohhh.

This is the little window in our room. Notice the paint job next to it....

We called this chair the electric chair...it was pretty creepy.

What in the world??? Yes, this water stain was on our ceiling. So lovely to look at, don't you think?

Our room had a bed, a dresser, and a creepy chair. That's it. Oh, and this really small picture.

The hallway.

The sink in the hallway that we shared with 4 other rooms.

The "shared" bathroom that was across the hall from our room.

When you sat on the toilet in the bathroom, this is what you saw. Someone stuffed tissue in the key hole. You really could see right in it.

Cory coming out of the "shared" bathroom.

Ready for the hot pools.

Us at dinner. We tried about 5 different places to eat....the were all closed on Mondays. We ate at a place called the Wagon Wheel. The waitress talked quite loudly about events in her personal life and marriage. It was kind of funny, and weird.

Since we didn't have a TV in our room, we used our lap top to watch TWILIGHT. Yes, we watched Twilight. Cory loves me that much. Now, he wants to read the books. HA HA!!!

The hot pools were really fun. There were about 5 different pools that we could swim in. This one was the perfect temperature for us. It was cool because it was snowing while we were in there. The steam and snow was just cool to watch.

What a cute couple!!!

Me, being silly by the hot pools.

I took these pictures just in case we didn't survive the night. I thought a ghostie was going to get us.

I did wake up at 3:00 in the morning to some crazy noises outside. My first thought was that a deer was taking a bath in the pools. I am crazy, I know. Then, I fought back and forth to look out the window. I finally did. What I saw was a man dressed in rain gear, with a huge light shining on the pools. He was cleaning them out and the hose was making all the noise.

We made it through a night at the Haunted hotel....

I am so glad to be on the way back home. I can't wait to sleep in my own bed and not to have to worry about ghosties or sharing a bathroom with strangers.

I don't think we would pay to stay here again, but if it were free, we probably would....

Would you stay here if you had the chace???

Idaho

Don't you think this is perfect weather for a spring break in Idaho....???

Crazy weather.

Jason's first bruise

See the bruise on his forehead??

At least he is still a happy little guy!!

Last week I had Tyler sitting on the couch with the laptop on a TV try so that he could watch a movie on it. I had just finished feeding Jason, and my cell phone rang. I put Jason on the floor and a few seconds later I glance over just in time to see the TV tray and laptop fall right on top of Jason's head. The TV tray edge landed on Jason's nose and the laptop fell on his forehead. I felt pretty bad about it and then a purple bruise immediately formed on his head. Poor kid. At least kids are made tough. He still has a small bruise on his head, but it hasn't seemed to bother him at all. I think the whole ordeal scared him most of all. And, now I know not to set up a TV tray with a crawling baby around.

New haircut...

I got a new haircut the other day and I just about had a heart attack. I got short(ish) layers. They are short to me, but probably long to others. I don't like doing my hair down very often because my hair usually ends up sticking to my head and face, but the new layers are just awesome. They help my hair stay lovely...at least for a few hours.

Cute baby

This picture kind of shows how fussy and sickish Jason has been lately. He's had runny noses, swollen gums, and lots of teeth now. 6 teeth and counting....no wonder why he's so fussy.

Standing

Jason is already standing on his own. I can't believe it. He can pull himself up next to the coffee table to a standing position. Again, I think he's too young to be doing this. I guess 10 months old is just about right though. I remember Tyler taking forever to learn to do these things. Jason does have an older brother that he needs to keep up with though.

Sitting....

Almost up...

Half way there...

Standing all the way up...!!!

Way to go Jason.

Mr. Serious and Mrs. goofy-pants....

These are real life shots of us. This is us pretty much on a daily basis. Cory loves his headphones and music, I love posing and being crazy. Funny.

Getting into things....

Jason has mastered the art of making messes and getting into things. He is our little explorer and loves to raid our pantry and our fridge. If we leave the doors open (even for a moment to get something out) he is there in no time trying to get at jars of food, or anything his little hands can reach. These pictures actually show Jason getting into a drawer all by himself. I think he's too young to be opening drawers on his own......AHHHH!
