Sick Tyler

I don't know what's happened to us since Sunday, but we have been sick, sick, sick. I started getting congested on Saturday, but felt okay. Sunday we were all feeling pretty good. Then, Monday came.....Tyler had a fever and vomiting. Jason hasn't really had anything, and I am super tired, cold, and have a runny nose. Tyler's highest fever has been 104..woosh. That is high. He is still sick and I am just hoping we can get over this soon. It's not fun having sick kids and knowing I am getting sick too.....oh the pains of being sick.

All Ty has wanted to do this week is put on a new pair of pajamas in the mornings, cuddle with his new blanket from grandma, and watch Transformers (the first one of course...I just had to make sure you all knew Tyler was not watching the second one) and Buzz Lightyear. Poor kid hasn't left the house since Sunday. Hopefully he will get over this soon and we can have a healthy, happy house again.

These pictures of Tyler were taken today. He is feeling better today, but still has a fever of 101. I think he's sick of being sick too.

New blankets

Mom said that she meant to give us these blankets for Christmas last year, well, she gave them to the boys on Sunday. Tyler loves his. It was the perfect time to get them with the weather getting colder now. The boys room seems to be the coldest room in the house and we have a heater in there now. These blankets will certainly help. Thanks Mom.

I know, these are not very good shots, but they are all we have. The boys were being so cooperative...can't you tell??

Making applesauce

So, with all those apples we picked on Sunday, we were able to make 9 jars of applesauce and i think 6 apple pie fillings. Yummy!!! I am so excited. It was so much fun to make. We made cinnamon sugar applesauce, red hot applesauce (made from red hots candy), and cranberry applesauce. They taste so much better than store bought. This was the first time Cory and I canned apples and we had fun coming up with flavors.

He is Cory's cinnamon sugar applesauce.

My beautifully pink red hot applesauce.

Jason watching us in his highchair.

And....this is what happens when you fill the canner up with too much water. Whoops. We had water spilling everywhere. On the floor, all over the stove top, and the cupboards. What a mess.

Just hanging out

Jason and Cory just hanging out having fun. Cory works so hard during the day that at night, the boys just love crawling all over him and loving him.

Picking apples

After church on Sunday, we went to Scot and Laurie's house to pick their apple trees. It was the only day we could do it. It was so much fun and we were able to get five big bags worth of apples. It was a beautiful day. It was great being outside together as a family doing this.

Cory up in the tree picking the apples....or shaking the tree sometimes so that some of the higher apples would drop.

I wasn't going to climb up there.

Tyler really liked helping us. He loved climbing up and down the ladder.

At one point, we had this ladder set higher and Tyler went to the very top. I tried not to panic too much, but I thought he was too high. He was just fine though.

Picking apples is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do!!!

Tyler's pumpkin

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Cory and Tyler went and picked this pumpkin out. It is pretty small, but I think it is just perfect for the boys. All except they think it is a ball and Tyler will often throw it across the living room. It is now hidden on a high shelf in our kitchen so that they won't play with it. We are planning on using it for a little pumpkin bowling next week. Hopefully it will still be in one piece by then.

Tyler just wanted to hide behind it for pictures.

Peek a boo.

Okay, I was going for Halloween scary here. I guess its not too scary, just blue.

What a handsome boy.

Tyler and his fruit

We have never had a problem with Tyler eating fruit. He loves any type. We often have problems with him eating too much or getting into the fridge to eat apples, peaches, or pears.

Here Tyler is eating a peach. I thought it was funny because they weren't quite ripe yet, but he still ate it.

Yummy!!

The perfect pumpkin

Last week Cory and Tyler picked out this pumpkin. It's not too small and not too big. It's perfect...well, the only bad thing about it is that the boys think that it is a toy ball. I had to hide it because Tyler and Jason would both throw it around the house. So, it is hidden in some random place in the kitchen.

Jason loves it.

He rolls it and then chases it.

He hugs it and loves it.

At least it hasn't cracked open on our lovely carpet yet.

And, throws it again.

Jason is having way too much fun!!!

Early Halloween Party

Melissa and Nathan were in town on Sunday so we decided to have us a little early Halloween party. It was so much fun. We didn't dress up, but we had some fun Halloween inspired food.

Melissa's veggie tray.

My deviled egg eye balls.

Mummy cheese ball.

And, pumpkin jello jigglers.

Cute Makayla and her missing tooth.

Me and Allie having fun together.

Lower Palisades hike

On Saturday, Cory and I were able to go on a hike to Lower Palisades Lake with Mom and Dad. We were kind of nervous because it was so cold during the week and even snowed. The whole way down we were worried that we weren't able to make it....but, we did it. We hiked 4 miles up to the lake and then the 4 miles down. It was the perfect time to go. It was beautiful. The leaves on the trees were changing to fall colors. Red, orange, yellow leaves were everywhere. We also saw green trees, snow, and basically all four seasons. It was awesome. I do know that I have to get in better shape if I want to hike Tablerock next summer. I can't believe I did this. I am so proud of myself.

The beginning of the trail...We are energetic and ready.

See the pretty red trees behind Cory.

Cory climbed up this rock pile that was at the beginning of the trail. It's funny, because I don't remember seeing it on the way down.

Dad could've ran up and down the hill a kazzilion times. He is so energetic and in shape. What a good example. I want to be as fit as him some day.

Two of my favorite people in the world.

I really like this picture of Cory.

Mom and Dad bought these walking sticks at a garage sale...I was a little hesitant to use them at first, but they are wonderful. They helped me get up some of the steep spots on the hike.

How did Cory get so much taller than me...?

This was the perfect spot to take a picture. The fall colored leaves surrounded us. Very beautiful.

Mom and Dad.

This picture will look nice in my living room.

Look at all that snow.

I loved seeing this green leaf among all the red and orange leaves.

Me, Cory, and a tree.

What a cute couple. We are so adventurous.

This shot was taken at the end of the hike. I don't think the pictures are give the actual scenery justice. It was so much more vibrant and beautiful in person.

We did it.

And, after the hike we went to our favorite hamburger joint. FIVE GUYS. Thanks again Trav and Mel for introducing us to it. You can't do anything strenuous and not have a Five Guys burger afterword...

And, it was so worth it. We love Five Guys.
