Man Skirt

Sorry, Dan, but Angie's jokes are true!

Angie threatened a while back, but I figured I'd beat her to the punch. A while back, David got me interested in the idea of wearing a sarong as a comfortable and cool loungewear option. Initially I just had a bright-colored fish scene Angie had been given by a friend in high school, but I wanted something that was more in line with the patterns traditionally worn by men. I happened to check in the $1 rack in Wal-Mart's fabric department, and I found this fabric. ($1/yard x 2 yards) + free hemming courtesy of Angie = $2 sarong. Beat that deal, girls!

I didn't think I'd ever wear it outside of the house, but today I even proved myself wrong and wore it to Byron and Kathy's house. I'm pretty sure everyone thought I was stark raving nuts, but I really didn't feel too uncomfortable, social-wise, and I was physically quite comfortable.

  1. Now that's kind of funny! I had a mission companion actually that wore a sarong around the apartment. I can't believe you wore it out to your friends. Funny!

  2. Hmmm...is this the same guy giving me a hard time for blessing my boys in a gown and dressing them in smocked overalls? And you're wearing a skirt?!

Let's make a deal: You never say anything about what I dress my boys in and I will stop myself from typing everything I'm thinking! haha You crack me up Cory. Last person I thought I would see in a sarong. You should definitely wear that to the next ward party you have!

  4. Oh! You got me - you got me good!

I still believe there's quite a difference between a Celtic-type pattern and frilly lace, but I do believe we have a deal. I promise I'll do my absolute best to keep any and all cracks about your choices in clothing for the boys to myself.

  5. Hey now, my boys only wore a little bit of un-frilly dressed down lace as a trim on a gown they only wore for 1 hour when they were six weeks old. haha

I just still can't believe it! You are too funny. As part of my end of the deal, I will keep an eye out for cool fabric you can use for future sarongs.

  8. Hahahahahahaha. The best part is that you have shamed us on a great deal, so we can't make fun of you! Don't worry, I like the man-skirt...maybe I can get Brian to wear one...
