Mothers Day 2012

I love a good photo bomb.
For Mothers day this year, we went with the Miles to the Train museum, dinosaur par, and Maddox.  It was a busy, busy day.  It was so much fun spending the day with family.  The boys loved chasing the model train and the museum and were pretty worn out by the time we made it to the Dino park.  Tyler pretty much wanted to wander by himself, so I just followed him to where he wanted to be.  The kids love those two parks in Ogden and often ask to go there.  We had a blast and were very tired when we got home after that busy day.

Best friends

Most of the time these two boys are the best of friends.  I am so grateful that they can and will play with each other and keep each other entertained.  They sure do keep me on my toes though.  With two very active little boys, I am constantly cleaning messes, cleaning spills, running around the house, and chasing them around the park.  It is so much fun being a mom.  I couldn't ask for a better, more fulfilling job.

EASTER 2012

Easter was pretty fun this year.  The Miles always have an Easter Egg hunt in their back yard and so we went and did that with all the kids.  They found so many eggs and sooooo much candy.  I found out that Jason loves marshmallow bunnies and chicks.  The Easter Bunny also brought the kids a fun loot.  Coloring activities and Gator Golf.  We are so very grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives and for the Atonement.

Hike

My dear sister and her family were able to visit one last time before their big move across the United States.  We had so much fun laughing and visiting.  My family likes to hike, so we hiked up City Creek and took some awesome family pictures.  I will miss you guys.  The kids had a blast as did us adults.

Grandma

In March we were able to attend the funeral of my Great Aunt Marsha.  I have only met her a handful of times in my life, but she certainly knew who I was.  She would call me every year on my birthday. After I was married, she not only called me, but Cory and the boys on their birthday as well.  I thought the funeral was pretty special, and I was sooo grateful I was able to attend.  While we were there, we were able to see Grandma Marie.  We don't see her too often.  I loved taking pictures with her and holding her hand.  I love her smile and the brightness in her eyes.

First loose tooth

I guess our boy is a little late at loosing teeth, but he finally lost his first tooth.  It was sooo funny because he came up with the idea to tie a string around it and pull it out.  We tried thread, then yarn, and finally Cory came up with the brilliant idea of dental floss.  After tying it on the tooth and a little yank, the tooth flew right out.  Yeah.  Tyler has now lost two teeth.  He loves the gold coins the tooth fairy brings too!!!!

Silly boy

Our silly Tyler.  He is such an awesome kid and makes me laugh in so many ways.  One day I noticed it was quiet....a little too quiet.  I started checking around at the boys....I peeked in the bathroom and this is what Tyler had done with all the toilet paper I had just bought.  Too funny.

Jason's tubes and adenoids

Okay, so I know I haven't done this blogging thing for awhile.  But, I needed to do a bit of catch up.  A few months ago Jason was able to get tubes in his ears.  He was getting so many ear infections.  Yeah.  His ears aren't so bad now...he also got his adenoids removed.  I thought it would really clear up his nose problems.  But, they are still there...not to the extent they were, but sometimes he does have a pretty nasty nose.  TMI, I know.

Update: Jason didn't have his adenoids out, since the doctor didn't see any problem with them specifically – hopefully that doesn't turn out to be a mistake.

I can crochet

I have been a slow learner when it comes to crocheted. I learned how to make hats a few years ago, and just this winter, I have learned how to make booties. Ohhhh the joy of baby booties. It has been so much fun. I love them so much. I still have to add buttons to the ones in the picture, but I am proud of myself for learning quite a few new stitches. What a perfect gift to give to someone. I already have a handful of sets ready to go.

What is that?

The boys were watching a show when this picture popped up. Tyler looks at me with a puzzled look on his face. He looked so confused....then he asked me what that was. It made me laugh.

And, if you don't know what it is either...it is a telephone.

Hair cuts

I don't know why, but these pictures make me laugh. It's probably because Cory spiked their hair and the clip to hold the towel...funny. I am so grateful that Cory is able to cut the boys hair. It has saved us so much money. I think he has cut his own hair for over the last 10 years, so he is very experienced. It still makes me nervous when Cory asks for help trimming his hair. I just don't know if I can do it.

Playing at the park

As I mentioned in another post, the weather here has been crazy. There hasn't been much snow at all. There are a few days where it has been warm enough to go to the park. I think on this day it was 32 degrees out. That's warm...right? The kids love the change and love being able to play outside. Cory and I tend to freeze while we watch them play. But, it is well worth the joy they get from going to the playground.

New favorite book.....

Oh dear me....as I have been organizing the house, Tyler stumbled upon this lovely book. I didn't realize what it was at first. I had to go through it and take out a few pages before he could have it back. He loves to look at pictures x-rays, bones, skulls, and anything else related to the human body. He has found this book fascinating and will ask us questions about the pictures and try to figure out things by himself. He is such a smart little boy.

Winter

This has been a very odd winter here in Idaho. There has been hardly any snow but it's been cold. We can't go to a playground because of the cold, and we can't go sledding because there is no snow. The boys do love to go "swimming" in the tub though. We get all of our beach toys and throw them in the tub. The boys will play in there for hours if I let them. They are super excited to go to the beach this summer and keep asking when we are going. This will just have to do for now.

Organization

So I have been really into organizing lately. Thanks to Pinterest, I have so many new ideas for organizing all my stuff.

Fabric covered DVD's!!! We don't watch them anyways, so now they are being used as a stabilizer for my fabric.

Hall closet. Looks amazing plus I cleared a whole shelf off.

Another view of the closet. We can see inside there now. Yeah.

Our coat closet. Gloves, hats, and scarves are in the pockets of the shoe organizer. The kids can reach them now and they put them away with no problem too. Instead of just throwing them on the floor.

My favorite picture of my fabric covered DVD shelf. Ha ha. Now I can see all my fabric and what I have. It is very inspiring now that I can see what I have.

Ouch

Cory and I were enjoying a wonderful lunch together, when we both got phone calls from the school. They had said Tyler tripped and got hurt. So, we rushed over to the school and picked up Tyler.

I was sad to see him with this road rash. Poor guy.

He had tripped while playing and running and fell on his face.

Potty Training

Potty training has been a very difficult task for us. Jason struggles so much. I hope we will be able to get him trained soon. He has to take miralax everyday to help him as well. It's just kind of frustrating. Ergh. Hopefully soon. He goes on the toilet a few times a day, but still wears a diaper for poopies. Any ideas to help us?

School

Tyler is doing soooo well in school. We are so proud of him. He loves being at school and learning. He is reading and writing so well now. We love hearing him read books and write us notes. I am glad that he loves learning. I hope he continues to excel. We are grateful for the medication he's on to help him with school!!!
