Buddah Baby!!

This is my favorite picture of Tyler in the chinese outfit. I like how he is showing off his belly...like a true buddah.

Tyler doesn't have good balance yet....so he is starting to slide down in this picture.

What cute little fat rolls.

Rub my bellly for good luck.

I love my new outfit.

Hurry up and take the picture...I can't sit here forever.

This week Tyler recieved a package from Taiwan. Inside was this adorable little Chinese outfit. Now Tyler is our own little Buddah baby....doesn't he look so cute. Thanks Brian and Krista. We love the outfit. It's a little big, but Tyler is going to keep growing.

Cute pictures

I like being naked.

Funny smile.

Sorry about the blurry picture....it's a cute one though.

Rice cereal

What is this??

I don't know how I feel about this!!

Here it comes.....!

Dribble..Dribble!!

"NO, I don't like that at all."

So lately we've been trying to introduce rice cereal to Tyler. As you can see, it isn't going very well. We tried putting it in his bottle a few days ago, but we made it too thick and after ten minutes of sucking, he hardly got any out. Tonight we decided to try spoon feeding it to him. Needless to say, it didn't go too well as you can see by the pictures. We'll keep trying though.

Car seat cover

This is the car seat cover that I made for Tyler. It's a bit bright, but I loved the material and it keeps the wind, rain, and snow out of Tylers face. It only took like 2 hours to make. It was really easy. This only cost me $7 to make. We sell them in the store I work at for $25....maybe I can make them for some profit......that would be cool!!

4 month check-up

Tyler had his four month check-up yesterday. Are you guys ready for this....Tyler is a whopping 20.8 pounds and 26 inches long. What a healthy sized boy!!?? He really made the Doctor proud. Tyler is off the charts. The doctor even said that he hasn't seen very many Gerber babies and that Tyler reminded him of a Gerber baby. What a cutie pie!! Tyler has sure grown a lot the past few months. He is really starting to focus on objects...especially his mom. He also really likes the Baby Einstien videos. Tyler loves putting his hands in his mouth and it frustrates us because we're always trying to get him to not suck on his hands. The other night when Cory went to check on him, Tyler had both of his thumbs in his mouth. Tyler is such a happy boy. He's smiles at everyone and everything which just makes our hearts melt. I also think that he's trying to figure out how to laugh. It so cute. We really are proud parents and are so happy that Tyler is a part of our lives.

A birthday accident

Well this week has been quite busy for us. It was our birthday's. Cory's is on the 16th and mine is on the 18th so we usually have a 'date' on the 17th. This year Cory decided to make us a nice, romantic dinner. I was upstairs talking on the phone with Jenni and when I went downstairs to see how Cory was doing, he was sitting on the couch with tissue wrapped around his finger. I asked if he had cut himself and he said yes. So I looked at his finger (which was bleeding like crazy) and after that one glance, I told Cory to put the food away while I packed Tyler up. Yes, we were on our way to Urgent Care. In the car Cory told me that he was cutting through an Avocado when the accident occured. (Note: It happened 20 or so minutes before I even went downstairs.) We got to Urgent Care around 6:00 p.m. and we left around 8:00 p.m. Cory ended up having to get 6 stiches in his index finger. (Another note: which makes this story even funnier....I had just given Cory this Knife for his birhtday the day before.)

How nasty!!

Even nastier.

Cory and the culprit.

Gross!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!

This was the center piece for our lovely birthday dinner....

a greeting card candle.

I can't wait to see what it is!!

What a pretty pot.

Cory is excited!!

What can it be?

My beautiful machine....a Janome.

It was our birthday's this week. Cory's was on Monday and mine was on Wednesday. We celebrated with mom and dad on Sunday. They cooked us salmon on a cedar board ( my personal favorite) with white rice and Cory's favorite homemade bread that mom makes. It's soo good. Dinner was fabulous. We rested a bit then went downstairs and opened some gifts. Cory was first and he got some cooking pans since he is getting some good practice cooking. They match the multi-pot that I gave him for Christamas. He also got a little cast-iron skillet. It's the perfect size and shape for hitting someone over the head with it. When Cory was done opening his gifts, it was my turn. I'm so excited to say that, yes, I got a sewing machine of my very own. I'M SO EXCITED. I've already made a pair of pajama pants with fabric I bought the day after Thanksgiving. And since I work at the Maternity store next to Jo-Anns I have been to the fabric store like three times this week. I can't wait to do some more experimenting on my machine. OHhhh, It's so awesome. I never thought in a million years that I would be getting a sewing machine. I love it. Thanks Mom and Dad!!! After the gifts we ate our Martha cake. It was sooo dang good. I loved the sour taste, but it was a bit rich for me. It was good though. What a good birthday!!

January's cake!!

What a beautiful cake!!

My layers aren't very even...but they were tasty!

So pretty.

Let's eat!!!

Well, here she is, my beautiful cake. And, she was tasty. My cake was a bit sour since we used just plain lemons and not Meyer lemons. But the pucker affect was fun and delicious. I am sad to say that our buttercream frosting wasn't very good. I don't know what we did wrong. The rest of the cake was really good though. I loved the lemon curd and lemon simple syrup. They were soooo sooo good. If anyone hasn't made this cake yet, I highly recommend that you do. The directions look hard, but it wasn't all that bad.

Our Weekend

In the latest in a series of spontaneous and fun happenings for us, we decided late Thursday to head down to Tooele with my parents Friday after work. Of course, we had to stop at the Maddox on the way down (unfortunately, we just missed the lunch specials by 10 minutes, but Angie and I did have birthday coupons to use). We also got free raspberry cheesecake and raspberry cream pie (after letting the servers sing their stupid song to us) Angie also had to stop at New York & Co. in Layton and found a pair of slacks - we each had some money that was given to us for Christmas, so we got to do some of our own Christmas shopping after the fact.

We stayed up late talking and cooing over Allie Friday night since we hadn't seen Melissa and Nate since a few weeks before Allie was born (and hadn't seen Allie yet at all). Saturday we went shopping at Jordon Landing (where I'm embarrassed to say I found several things and Angie didn't find anything). Most exciting to me is a little something I won't actually be getting until my birthday - I'll post on it then.

We were supposed to get off to an early start on Sunday so we could go to Heather Hobbs' baby's blessing in Idaho Falls, but the car we were supposed to be driving back picked up a rusty razor blade Saturday evening and we weren't able to get it fixed until about noon today. With the news of bad weather up Idaho Falls way, we decided not to try the mad dash up to the luncheon and hung out a bit longer in Tooele, where Melissa treated us to a roast beast dinner.

There was a bit of snow on the north side of Malad Pass, but the weather and roads really weren't too bad for us. It will be very nice to be in our own beds tonight, though! Our airbed is way better than sleeping right on the floor, but it just doesn't compare to our boxspring/pillowtop mattress/featherbed combo!

The Three Miles Cousins

Makayla and Tyler, both actually smiling at the same person (even if it's not the person with the camera)!

Tyler and Allison, showing their size difference - look at what a cute, tiny thing she is! Of course, Ty's a cute, chunky thing! Allie's up to 6 lb. 9 oz., and the way she eats, she's trying to pass Tyler up!

The three cousins. Grandma and Grandpa were also supposed to be in the picture, but for some reason, they had an even harder time looking at the right camera than the kids did.
