Ogden's Union Station

Last week we were able to take a few little trips. Cory had one week off before he started his new job and so we decided to have a little stay-cation. First on our list was a drive to Ogden. We had free passes to the new and improved Union Station and so we were off for our first day of fun.

We had to climb some pretty small ladders to get up here. I was so surprised by Tyler. He did it almost all by himself. He is growing up so fast.

We didn't even get to climb on top of all the trains. The museums were closing soon and so we had to leave the real trains if we wanted to visit all the museums.

We were sitting on chairs that were on top of dressers and storage units. It was pretty fun up there.

We also visited the gun museum. I have never seen so many guns in my life. It was kind of interesting.

There was a little toy train that Tyler just kept watching and watching. There was a button that he could push and then it would go around the track. He watched it for over 30 minutes.

We are now in the antique car museum.

We had to rush through it because it was 10 minutes before closing. All the old cars really reminded me of Grandpa Hobbs. It was cool to see all the real-life cars of all of his collectibles.

Funny Jason

We were filling the tub up so both the boys could get a bath. Tyler was already ready to go but we hadn't gotten to Jason yet. He was so excited to be taking a bath that he got right in with all of his clothes on. We thought it was so funny. He loves taking baths.

Jason loves Popcorn

We found out the other day that Jason loves his popcorn. He chews it up fairly well too. We just have to be careful about the seeds because he will try to eat those too.

Well, maybe he doesn't eat it as well as we thought. Maybe he just crumbles it up and then sits on it.

24th of July Celebration

In Pocatello, we celebrate the 24th of July, or Pioneer Day. We started out by attending the parade. Tyler loved going with his two cousins Allie and Makayla. After the parade, we were off to the fairgrounds where Tyler got to play in a bouncy castle and he even got to go fishing over a wall. The kids got free hot dogs which were much needed by this time. The last stop we made was at the doll making corner. Tyler's doll turned out to be more of a pirate than a doll. He was sure cute making it though. All in all, it was a fun, but very hot day.

Oh my gosh, he is just so adorable. I love his face in this picture. I think it says a lot about his personality. Don't mind the drool on his chin, he is teething like crazy.

We tried to get a good picture of the two boys together. Jason just doesn't understand yet how to look and smile cute. Oh well.

When I grow up...

I want to be just like my Daddy. Tyler has his work badge on and Cory's hat. I thought it was so cute....except for the whole tongue thing going on. Why is that Tyler has to pull faces when the camera comes out?? He is super-duper cute though.

I know a handsome boy...

Here is Tyler in the cutest church outfit ever. I got him this new pink shirt a few weeks ago. I thought he looked so adorable in it. I bought Jason a shirt to match Tyler's tie. It is lime green. Unfortunately, I didn't realize we don't have any church pants that fit Jason right now. He's been wearing an outfit to church that is shorts instead of pants. I guess I better go find him some so he and Tyler can look so handsome and matchy together. THen, I will take another picture....oh it will be so cute.

In Training

Angie and I have a couple of physical "feats" that we want to accomplish this summer. As such, we've been talking for quite a while about training, getting in shape, etc. Being the procrastinators we are and having the usual excuse of having two boys to worry about, jobs, commitments, etc., we just never really did much.

That's all changing, if you can count one bike ride as everything changing. In order to accomplish our ultimate goal of climbing Table Rock with Angie's family, we recently decided to participate in Pocatello's Pioneer Day Celebration bike race, and then continue riding together for extended distances, leading up to the hike. Because we're wimps, we'll probably only do the 10 mile course, instead of the 25 mile course. Also, because the race is this coming Saturday, we decided we'd best get hopping.

Today we hitched the boys' trailer to my bike, loaded them up, and headed out for a planned 7 mile round trip. Once we got to the halfway point, we decided we wanted a little more variety and changed our route home. All in all, it ended up being real close to 8 miles round trip, with the hardest part being the hills in the first half. We took about 45 minutes round trip and my cycle computer tells me our average speed was 11 mph. We'll get in at least one more practice run before Saturday, and I figure that by Saturday we ought to be able to do the 10 miles in well less than 1 hour.
